Rev. Dr. Argie M. Araujo, Founder and Senior Pastor

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

Messiah Community Baptist Church (MCBC) was birthed after much prayer, fasting and prostrating before God.  As a spiritual leader for her family and friends, Pastor Argie M. Araujo started a ministry in her home, teaching the Bible to all ages. 

In March 2002, the WJRO Radio Ministry was established and the Word of God was preached for two and a half years.

In April 2004, Rev. Araujo took an oral exam which was followed by the laying on of hands by attending clergies and she was Ordained and Set Apart as an Ordained Minister of the Gospel by her Pastor, Dr. Harold A. Carter, Sr.

The Lord led Pastor Araujo to open the doors of Messiah Community Baptist Church in December 12, 2004.  Pastor Araujo adhering to the teaching of the Word of God, "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders, labor in vain…" Psalm 127:1, has been blessed and kept by the hand of God to continue working in this vineyard for more than 14 years.

Under the leadership of Pastor Araujo, the church continues to grow and prosper.  During this sanctified season, Pastor Araujo has instituted bible studies, prayer meeting services, Vacation Bible School, several annual days, and monthly and weekly Christian growth opportunities for church members, the community, and anyone who desires to learn more about Jesus Christ.  She has significantly expanded opportunities for the church to impact the community through several collaborations and partnerships.

Jeremiah 29:11 states: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Because of these words, God allowed Messiah to obtain a Harford County historic structure for its home in 2017.

God has done marvelous things through Rev. Dr. Argie M. Araujo and the Messiah Community Baptist Church family.  We are bearing good fruits of the Holy Spirit and shall continue to walk by faith and not by sight!  To Him, we give all praise and honor!
